Education is that whole system of human training within and without school house walls
                                                                   W.E.B. Du Bois
Jeremy Dennis, Ed.D.

I created Missed Education 101 because you might be an adult who wants a cost-effective and efficient way to add more value to your education and skill set in an information economy. ME: 101 provides deeper college-level learning experiences using customization and networks. It offers digital resources that help you benefit from these opportunities. ME: 101 builds on your interests, prior learning and the cultural relationships you already recognize. It links your experiences to larger academic conversations, so you can use these connections to think, to learn and to reduce the increasing cost of a college education.

After 20 years of teaching and learning management in a variety of colleges and universities, I am most interested in discovering ways dialogic philosophy, interdisciplinarity and technology facilitate competency-based learning in the Humanities. I completed interdisciplinary graduate programs in Rhetoric and Composition and Higher Education (Community College Teaching). I have served in a number of administrative roles in Higher Education, including Coordinator of Foreign Languages, Coordinator of Learning Communities and Chair of the Humanities. I taught at El Instituto Cultural Dominico Americano, University of Southern Indiana, Ivy Tech Community College, Maryville University, St. Louis Community College and Webster University. I have taught Interdisciplinary Studies, Literature, Humanities, Composition, Report Writing, Creative Writing and Creative Thinking. I earned a doctorate in education (emphasis in philosophy and practice) from the University of Missouri. My latest article is here.

"If you truly love learning and aren't afraid to dig in and research topics that are often not covered in traditional classes, this may be for you." Blake B.

"The course left my mind stimulated to learn even more." Felicia M.

"I have learned so much ... how to be a critical thinker and think outside the box." Philip S.

"I've never seen a learning tool so effective. My hat's off to the creator of this magnificent program." Maria R.

"I encourage anyone with a thirst for knowledge to journey through the wonders of the Matrix Maps!" Vanessa H.

"These Matrix Maps are wonderful!" Taylor W.

"I thoroughly enjoyed each one and found it very hard to choose a favorite." Brenda L.

"My favorites are Grace, and how she manages through tears, Mattie, and her triangular relationship to a child and immortality, and Earl, who shows us a race which is defined by far more than a finish line. Those are the best, but there isn't a bad one in the bunch." Peter H.

"I was surprised, at first, I didn't think I would enjoy this read, but I found myself caught up in the stories, the people and the happenings .... It's a different read; I feel. Not the norm, but one that brings to light a lot of truths about people that tend to be buried, or ignored .... I believe you will enjoy this ... especially if you want something a little different, yet captivating at the same time." Shirley P.
